input data in microsoft excel  My colleage dumps the DB2 database into the access file, and I would like to import it back to the DB2 database. This is the quick and dirty way. After conversion from the excel to the SQL command, I execute that command in the DB2 command center. That's it !~ I built the quoted feature so that we can select which field we want to quote and not quote. The tool is available at  " Excel to SQL ". Try it ! Step 1  : paste data from the excel, click submit Step 2 :  choose the column that we want to quote. if not selected the column will be treated as a numeric field Step 3 : Bingo ! converted excel to SQL command If we want to convert from the fix length file ( i.e. the database output file exported from SPUFI ) to the excel sheet, I suggest you to use .rtf format. The microsoft excel understand .rtf and we can correctly parsed it into the column of the excel table.
